How the Wait-Time Log Works and How to Minimize Wait Times

Select a branch to see its wait time:
Step 1 – Want to Avoid Going to a DMV Office?
The DMV has several online services on our website. Please review our online services to determine if you can complete online any transaction that you are bringing to a DMV locations. More online services will be coming in the near future.
Please remember - You can renew your license or state-issued ID at AAA offices in the state as well as obtain a duplicate license there. If you meet certain requirements, you can renew your registration online. You can mail in your registration providing you do it before the expiration. If registration or license renewals are past their expirations, you will owe a late fee.
Step 2 – What Should You Know to Visit a DMV Office
DMV’s busiest days are Tuesdays and Saturdays. Our wait times are typically minimal on Wednesdays and Friday mornings. Also, please be sure to check out the branch wait times before your visit so you will be able to plan your trip accordingly.
On the wait-time log, the times shown start after someone receives a numbered ticket that puts them in a queue for a certain service. DMV does not guarantee that a wait time will remain constant. Due to the dynamic nature of customer traffic, wait times are subject to change and vary from when you view the time online until you actually arrive at a DMV branch office.
It is also important that customers do not wait until their expiration date to either renew their driver license, identification card, registration, or other credentials. Driver licenses, identification cards and vehicle registrations can be renewed any time after you receive your notice. For prompt service, please make sure to bring all required documentation with you to ensure your transaction(s) can be completed in one visit.
